Steampunk Dragon

I basically used the character from this stock image [link] for the passenger and I randomly stuck the hot air balloon from [link] in the background. The stock photo that really inspired this pic, however, was [link] . I tweaked the costume slightly but that was out of necessity.

On to the story. (Because almost all of my pictures have a story.) The dragons are basically a taxi service for the city's rich. However, the complicated tack needed to accommodate this is heavy so the lighter the driver (so to speak) the better. This got me thinking, hey, they had child labor in Victorian times then I was thinking there's no way that little girl could afford to buy that tack, let alone a dragon, so they probably belong to someone else, and, by extension, she probably basically does too. Anyway, hope you like it.

I realize there are a few problems with the anatomy and shading but to be fair, this is the trickiest lighting situation I've ever had to deal with, coupled with the most complicated tack I've ever had to design, coupled with one of the most detailed backgrounds I've made. All in all, I'm proud of it.
